Free Limited Manufacturing Warranty

At The Modern Diamond, we stand behind the quality and craftsmanship of our jewelry. We offer a free limited warranty against manufacturing defects on all of our fine jewelry pieces.

Should your jewelry sustain damage due to manufacturing, please contact us immediately so that we can evaluate the item. We request a deposit of $50 before the shipment of your item to The Modern Diamond for evaluation. This deposit covers shipping and insurance costs for the item and an evaluation by our fine jewelers to determine if the damage is covered under our warranty. Should the repair be under our warranty, the fee will be refunded in full. We will also cover shipping back to the customer for all warrantied repairs. Should the repair be outside of our warranty, we will quote a repair price to you and wait for your approval before work is performed. Upon your approval of repair work, the deposit will be applied toward this repair. If the customer chooses not to have the piece repaired, the deposit will be applied to cover the shipping charge back to the customer.

If a warranty issue is found, The Modern Diamond will repair the damage that is under warranty, or we will replace the item without charge.

Any repair or service performed by a jeweler other than The Modern Diamond will void the warranty. Remember, all fine jewelry can be affected by normal everyday wear, activities, or trauma. Our manufacturing warranty does not cover for wear and tear, loss of gemstones, product loss, or theft. Failure to obtain the repairs required to preserve the integrity of the jewelry will also result in voiding the warranty.

Examples of common jewelry issues that are not considered manufacturing defects include:

  • Precious metals becoming discolored by chemicals, make-up, immersion in pools and hot tubs, or bathing.
  • Prongs and parts of jewelry wear down over time due to normal wear (especially in rings), these might require repairs to preserve the jewelry’s integrity.
  • Prongs bending, wearing thin, or catching is part of everyday wear and is considered normal damage that needs to be maintained by the customer. This could result in gemstones falling out of the piece, and would not be covered.
  • Should a gemstone fall out due to everyday wear and tear or damage, it would not be covered.
